Jared Funderburk

Jared grew up in the Carolinas with a passion for exploring the natural world and helping others discover and appreciate it. Ever since he was a boy, he’s always felt most at home in nature.

During college, he discovered that he could travel the world with just his backpack and he’d soon visited 16 countries across Europe, Africa, Australia and the Americas. After receiving his master’s in teaching, Jared became an interpretive ranger at Wrangell–St. Elias National Park and Preserve in Alaska, which was the perfect way for him to combine his love of travel, nature and educating others. It was here he discovered the grandest examples of nature he’d ever witnessed until then. Jared also spent several years as a high school social studies teacher where he enjoyed bringing the life lessons he’d learned from nature into the classroom.

Jared’s passion for the natural world and its wonders is contagious, and he has made it his purpose to share that passion with others.
