Seekers of the green flash at dawn were on deck for the 7:10 am sunrise. There was no flash this morning, but it was a beautiful sunrise, nonetheless. San Jose del Cabo was the morning’s destination with visits to the estuary for birding and time to visit the town. Mats of water hyacinths created floating platforms for common gallinules, snowy egrets, and a host of other water birds. Meanwhile, ospreys and kestrels searched for prey from the sky. San Jose del Cabo offers great opportunities to interact with Mexican culture. If there’s a better way to experience Mexican culture than by partaking in a fruit palleta from the Palettaria…then I’ll be the tio de un mono!
