Curu Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica
How old are you? What do you eat? Have you always had such a long nose? Are these the sort of questions you would ask your fellow traveling companions? Not quite. But these are probing questions that help you discover more about the different creatures observed during our week in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. These questions are appropriate if you are addressing the coati (first photo) we found as we walked at Curu this morning. An interview with nature can bring out many interesting discoveries. Ask a rock, “Have you always been round? How did you get here? Is it cold here at night? How did you get so smooth?” The questions lead to contemplation on your part, and that is the beginning of learning something new and wonderful.
The combination of inquisitive minds, eager and engaging naturalists and the wealth of diversity and opportunities for exploration, make for a memorable shared experience. The second picture shows one of these inquiring minds.
Below are some of the shared inspirations of our guests on the Sea Voyager. Some are from the young of age, and some are from the young at heart.

Wet Season,
Costa Rica,
It is a gentle place,
Where sea turtles roll in the morning mist,
And outgoing circles of love dance out to the boundary of blue sea and bluer sky.
There is where we find ourselves,
together,
one heart,
one breath.
-Ken Taub, August 2002, Young at Heart
Bird
Graceful, swift
Soaring, flying high
Gliding into the sky
Beautiful.
