Itinerary

Day 1 - Oslo / Hovedøya Island

After disembarking from the ship, your luggage will be securely stored while you begin your day of exploration. Enjoy a light lunch at the hotel before setting out on a scenic adventure. Oslo sits at the head of a fjord dotted with picturesque islands, and you’ll use the local ferry to visit several of them throughout the afternoon. Later, savor an early dinner on Hovedøya Island. Upon returning to the city, check in at your hotel and have time at leisure—perhaps to stroll the medieval grounds of Akershus Fortress, built in the 13th century by King Haakon V—just one of the many wonderful experiences Oslo has to offer. Day 2 - Oslo / Holmenkollen

Visit your choice of two museums: the Nobel Prize Museum, which showcases groundbreaking Nobel Prize–winning ideas throughout history, or the National Museum, home to several renowned works of art, including Edvard Munch’s The Scream.

This afternoon, take a scenic metro ride to the peaceful mountaintop forest at Holmenkollen. Enjoy a hike along woodland trails as you explore this iconic peak that towers above the city. Then, visit the world‑renowned Holmenkollen Ski Jump, which hosted events for the 1952 Winter Olympics. Delve into 4,000 years of Nordic and downhill skiing history at the adjoining Ski Museum, and from the observation deck on top, take in spectacular views of Oslo. Enjoy an early dinner at Holmenkollen Lodge before returning to the city. (B,L,D)
