Jhosellyn Aguas
Jhosellyn comes from a family that stretches back six generations in the Galapagos islands. Her great-grandparents arrived in the early 1900s, establishing first on Floreana Island and later moving to San Cristobal Island. It was here that Jhosellyn was born, at the heart of one of the most emblematic families in town. From a very early age, she has loved nature – both on land and underwater – and growing up in between the unique flora and fauna of the Galapagos and the calm anthropologic environment allowed her to discover her passion to become a naturalist. Now she has over than 16 years of experience as a Galapagos National Park naturalist. She also has a degree in Tourism Management and Hospitality and an environmental management certification. Jhosellyn believes in her duty to take care of people and is a trained land and sea first responder – she also trains other trainers. Jhosellyn's last name, Aguas (waters), by coincidence reflects the environment of her family’s land, located in the highlands of San Cristobal, which holds the only freshwater springs, waterfalls and small permanent freshwater streams in the Galapagos. She is a dive master, and also enjoys cooking for her family, horseback riding and exploring the wilderness of her family land at the highlands of San Cristobal Island. Do not hesitate to approach her if you have any questions about the unique human history of the Galapagos.
